In January 2008 the chapter board unanimously decided to change the chapter name from HIMSS Red Rock Chapter to HIMSS Nevada Chapter. The RedRock Chapter was established when the chapter included 4 states. The 4 states now each have their own chapters and to eliminate geographic confusion the chapter needed to simplify it's name. As of May 2008, the articles of incorporation for the chapter were officially changed to read "HIMSS Nevada Chapter." The website and documentation have been updated to reflect the change.
